Love, Death + Robots is a collection of animated short stories ranging from science fiction to fantasy, horror and comedy. Each episode has a different narrative and animation.
After the destruction of humanity, three robots wander through a seemingly abandoned city, trying to understand how humans lived based on their limited knowledge of them and the things they left behind. The surprise comes when they encounter a cat.

The chronicle is called Un gato hijo de puta (A son of a bitch cat) and tells the story of the trip to the Italian Hospital to treat the wounds caused by the feline. At the entrance to the hospital,” says Josefina, “a receptionist took my ID card, wrote down the reasons why I was in the ward and, through the system, passed my data to a second employee who was looking at the screen. When I approached, that employee arched his eyebrows and smiled”. What follows is the letter sent to us this week by the hospital worker, who tells the same story, but from the other side of the counter.
That Sunday I came to work tired. I slept badly. Lolo usually spends the night at my feet, I am resigned to contorting myself so as not to kick him, but that night he was particularly restless. He was getting in and out of bed more often than usual, he was different, something in the air was disturbing him. Or maybe it was me being restless and depositing my paranoia on the house pet.
Check in at the hospital, get a coffee from the machine, take up the post and start receiving patients in the ward: the routine so routine. One with the flu, abdominal pain, high blood pressure, conjunctivitis, overeating, the usual… Nothing foretold how different that day would be.

Tokyo Ghoul represents one of the darkest manga of current seinen, falling into the genre of dark fantasy. The story takes us to a world where ghouls, creatures that look like normal people but can only survive by eating human flesh, live in secret among the ordinary human population, hiding their true nature to evade persecution by the authorities, but furtively feeding on clueless humans. The issue is that the protagonist, Ken Kaneki, is attacked by one of them, who is accidentally killed during the confrontation against Ken, who is also seriously injured. When the health authorities arrive on the scene and take him to the hospital, they determine that Ken needs a transplant of some organs, so they use those of the ghoul (without knowing that he is a ghoul). The end result is that Ken ends up becoming a hybrid between ghoul and human, only to discover an underworld too terrifying…. The anime series has been quite praised from the beginning, for the visual rawness and for not holding back any of the brutality of the seinen manga it comes from.
